The district is mainly a hilly area covering 38.59 square kilometers with a population of 13,814 inhabitants.
Maximum altitude 633 meters; minimum altitude 36 meters above sea level.
Waterways Ombrone River

The municipality of Carmignano contains eight hamlets. In addition to the town of Carmignano itself, the municipality includes the hamlets of Artimino, Bacchereto, Comeana, La Serra, Poggio alla Malva, Santa Cristina a Mezzana, Seano, and Verghereto.

Patron Saint: Saint Michael, celebrated on 29 September.

How to arrive ... by car

- from the A1 motorway-NORTH: exit at Prato-Calenzano, continue towards Poggio a Caiano and follow the signs for Carmignano;
- from the A1 motorway-SOUTH: exit at Firenze Signa, continue towards Poggio a Caiano and follow the signs for Carmignano;
- from the A11 motorway: exit at Prato Est, continue towards Poggio a Caiano-Artimino and follow the signs for Carmignano;
- from the S.G.C. Fi-Pi-Li: exit at Montelupo Fiorentino, turn left at the first intersection, then right at the second. Continue on SS67 to the Artimino/Camaioni junction (automobile transit only) and follow the signs for Carmignano/Artimino.

From either station, take the blue LAM-MT Azzurra (Prato - Comeana - Seano - Carmignano)
